VisitEngland Awards for Excellence:
The Awards Trust Mark accredited VisitEngland Awards for Excellence champion the very best of the country’s tourism industry, celebrating quality, innovation and best practice.
The annual awards cycle begins with a series of local competitions, which feed up to the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence. Businesses complete a single application and eligible local winners are automatically put forward to the national judging panel.
The highlight of each awards cycle is the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence event, where the finest businesses receive the most coveted accolade in English tourism.
Visit East of England is the official tourism body representing Suffolk and Norfolk’s combined 5.6bn visitor economy. It works with Destination Management Organisations and local authorities to provide a collective strategic voice when representing the two counties to the national tourism bodies, VisitBritain and VisitEngland, and the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.
Working with stakeholders it has produced a Destination Development Plan and through the VENI skills and education project looks to change the narrative that the tourism and hospitality sector is ‘seasonal, low skilled and low paid’ by promoting the excellent careers that can be found in it.
Its collaborative approach has been hailed as ‘trailblazing’ and ‘not being done anywhere else in the country’ by VisitBritain Nick de Bois.
Visit Essex is the official tourism organisation for Essex and is the only body specifically marketing the whole of the county to the visitor market. As a leading destination management organisation Visit Essex brings together the public and private sector to set the industry’s strategy and deliver high profile campaigns to ensure that the county remains a leading visitor destination.
Visit Essex is the official voice of the industry, governed by an independent board and works closely with VisitEngland, VisitBritain and other national organisations. . Growing the tourism economy is at the heart of everything we do.
Visit Herts is the destination management organisation for the county of Hertfordshire. Visit Herts works with a range of public and private sector businesses and organisations to raise the county’s profile as a leading destination. Activities include targeting UK and overseas markets through consumer marketing and PR campaigns, forging strong relationships with the travel trade, improving quality and skills within the industry, and growing investment in tourism.
Visit Herts is a public/private sector partnership supported by Hertfordshire County Council and Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership and is delivered by destination management specialists Go to Places.
Visit Norfolk is the official tourism body representing the county’s 3.5bn visitor economy. It works with Destination Management Organisations (DMOs) Visit Great Yarmouth, Visit the Broads, Visit Norwich, Visit West Norfolk and Visit North Norfolk. Visit Norfolk operates a hugely-successful website as well as social media channels and manages marketing campaigns on behalf of each of the seven local authorities in the county as well as Norfolk County Council.
It also sends digital communications to its extensive database, not least the e-publication There’s Nowhere Like Norfolk.

It works with Destination Management Organisations (DMOs) The Suffolk Coast, Bury St Edmunds & Beyond, Discover Newmarket and All About Ipswich. Visit Suffolk operates a successful website as well as social media channels and manages marketing campaigns on behalf of each of the five local authorities in the county.
